i was at a light and some kid about 21 pulled up in a viper so he redlined his and i got ready and soon ask the light turned green i went and he dumped the clutch and did a 180 and hit a parked car so i geuss i won right???

How do you go from a red light, to red-lining and dumping the clutch... which in a viper you can't do while red-lining cause of the built in limiter which can only be removed by removing the original computers.... to doing a 180 and hitting a parked car... which by the way, Vipers turn like boats trying to 180's as I found out while riding with my buddy Jim who JLaw can back me up that he has a 99' GTS Hennessey.... For short.. I call Bull Shit... Sorry dude..

I was afraid to step into this thread cause I can't find my rubber boots and the bs is pretty thick. A 98% of the guys in vipers wouldn't even bother reving the engine in response to a 5. I've had so many guys try irk me on when I'm in the hot rod, and most guys with any horsepower won't even justify a response from a machine like ours. they just point and laugh. (i'm not talking about big mods like crusins or King), but if a guy pulled up beside my hot rod driving a car like my stock G5 and gunned it,, I wouldn't even touch the throttle, simply just point and laugh

nah thats a bit harsh...I have had a porcshe and a couple vettes and other high dollar cars give me attention, i just shake my head and say one day...lol.
im not saying the op isnt bsing us im just saying there are morons out there willing to race us lol. maybe the guy thought it was a GTO, got to remember a lot of folks dont even know what a G5 is :lol:

mebbe they give you attention bumble, and that's because a clean car or nice mods will get attention by car guys. doesn't matter if it's a g5, s-10 or 57 chev. Still not the same as being taken seriously if you were to gun it and point at the lights

It really depends on the person driving. I've had a bunch of ricer-wannabees thinking they're cool pull up next to me in my old Pontiac and want to race and usually I blow them off and hope there's a cop up ahead to get them. But some times if they seem cool I'll race them and leave them behind lol. But I've had people race me in my jeep for the fun of it. For example; Jordan(JLaw87), my brother, and I were leaving the local drag strip after a taping of the show Pinks here in KC and there was a cool guy in a Trailblazer SS with the LS1 and he messed with us for probably 15 minutes on the highway on the way home when he clearly knew he was much much faster, he even let me get a few lenghts on him leaving a light before he blew past us and then backed off to crack some jokes lol. I know there are some stupid people with some stupid money but that Viper story still sounds like a huge load... Just admit it and when something interesting actually does happen tell us the real happenings and you won't catch so much hell... K...

Sorry dude, this is definate bullshit. I've done the SRT experience through chrysler 2 times and driven the SRT10 vipers through there "advanced driving" course which is pretty much a mix between autocross and drifting and I can tell you even dumping a clutch on a viper SRT10 will not instantly make you do a 180 as told in your story. Yes if you had the wheel cranked then it would spin but you'd have to be a complete jackass to line up to race a G5 and have your wheels cranked sideways and then dump the clutch off the line. That car could have dumped the clutch with no revs, still engages and drove 1/4 throttle and still beat you. So why would he dump his clutch at redline? Hahaha I definately call BS.
