You gotta be kidding? That's it???? The only other things I can think why they went the rebuilt route was naturally (1) cost to replace all (most) G5/Cobalt units and number of units required to FILL the enormous requests to replace all those units. And afterall what would GM do with MILLIONS of used/defective p/s motors. Probably a good decision based on cost. I know i would rather essentially rebuild all the units left out there than replace them all and be stuck with the same number of worthless units!

I received my second recall letter last week too. I'll probably make an appointment in a month or so. I have way too much stuff going on right now to make an appointment.

I do agree that they did this for cost reasons,
but I strongly believe that the part they removed
from the car was NEW and the forced recall should
be replace with a NEW part, not reman.
This is not WARRANTY REPAIRS, this is a
FORCED RECALL.

On a side note, I sell a ton of new and reman parts
everyday and you will not believe the amount of
warrantied parts that were remanufactured compared
to the same number of new parts. Don't have exact figures
here but a well guesstiamated number would be 4-6 reman
defects to 1 new defect. This is not NAPA figures, these are
industry wide figures.

So now.... the question is........
How long will this reman motor last ?
Since I'll be the one paying for it next time.
