low gears

Ive started using the lower gears as of late (perhaps ever since I was introduced to manumatic ;) ). I've never used the L gear; only the I gear. I know the lower gears are there for a reason, and this may be a paranoid question, but I wanted to make sure what I'm doing won't mess it up. 1) I...
