I just purchased a certified used 2009 Pontiac G5 on 12/8/2010. Really excited because my other cars have been '92s and '00s...really big pieces of crap!
Took it to the dealership on 12/11/2010 to get it detailed and now my turn signals do not make the dinging noise. It's really eerie to me, haha. All the lights work correctly, and the dinging noise for when your seatbelt is not put on works properly. Can't really find any info on the internet detailing this kind of problem - all the information I could find was from people whose turn signal noise wouldn't shut off! It definetly worked before taking it to the dealership...I'm kinda wary of taking it back to the dealership because I think they caused it. I really hate dealing with car mechanics - it seems like everytime I take a vehicle to get something looked at or the oil changed - something else on the car breaks before I get back home.
Any advice on how to fix this myself? I've read various info on what causes the noise - is it the signal switch or a recording within the radio?
Thanks for any help!
Just realized I posted this in the wrong category. Sorry.

No, it's the standard radio that comes from the manufacturer. If it worked before I took it to get detailed, and it didn't work after I got it back from the dealership...what could they have done to it during detailing to break it?...And then turn around and not fix it :|
If you had read the entire original post, you would have seen the following:

Why take it back to the dealership if I can do it myself? Maybe I like learning how things work. Also - didn't post on here looking for someone to tell me to take it back to the dealership. Obviously I've considered that option
I have a feeling it probably had an aftermarket radio at some point in its previous owner's life and was switched back to stock and was not rewired properly... Your best bet... hate to say it but take it back to dealer. Could be one of thousands of possible problems... you would literally need to trace it back from each wire to locate/isolate/solve the problem.
Certified.... Dealer warranty? Free. ANY dealer if you don't like that one. Can't say anyone detailing would cause that issue. Coincidence most likely.
If I get any kind of work done to my car and something doesn't work right within a week after I get the car back - the first thing I do is go back to the shop. Why wouldn't you? it's free.
dont know about you guys but my signal lights make a clicking sound theres no ding like an open door that would be annoying as fuck, if all the lights still work dont worry much. the signal relay is like what 5 dollars maybe 10, or just when you turn make your own clicking noise just to fill that huge void....... i gotta sleep been up a while lol
Is your left front speaker working? Thats where the 07+'s chimes and such come out of.
