mysterious coolant loss (slow) perhaps the heater core.

everything else reasonably in good condition.

slight engine ticking (timing belt?)

No timing belts on these, maybe a stretched chain but thats a bit extreme.

Just rolled over 140k. intermediate shaft is cooked and a front strut is blown. Only major issues to report

My buddies give me hell all the time because i bought my g5 in 2009 with a little over 19000 miles on it and it now has just hit 31000. Maybe im weird but i love the look of my car and it still looks brand new, anyone else has the same problem of not wanting to drive your g5? ha
My 08 g5 has 296,000 and she still purrs like a kitten. Regular maintenance is important.

G5 is a solid car, people will talk shit when they are jealous that u got something amazing and as long as u respect her and treat her right she will last longer than you would expect

The styling is more 'racy' than the Cobalt. With a small tweak or two, it could easily next year's model. Lots of potential for major tech upgrades in the dash. I just drove a rental Mustang. Its 2.3l ecotech rocked! Imagine what 310hp stock would do in a G5? Oh, sure, the drive train and suspension would have to be beefed up. GM screwed a huge pooch ditching Pontiac.
