As I stated in the thread linked below, I bought a PS3 on Sept 1st because I was pissed my X360 broke for the second time.

So I'm waiting for my X360 coffin to show up to mail it back. Two weeks later, it's still not here. I call them and I'm on the phone for 30mins while the person contacts a specialist and then tells me the previous person messed something up and that my coffin would be here in 3-5 business days.

10 business days later, nothing. Fine, I'll give it a another week cause I still have the PS3.

Turns PS3 on. PS3 freezes. Reboots PS3, seems to work ok. Starts up PS3 next day. PS3 freezes randomly and shuts off giving an overheating error code. Impressive seeing as how it's been turned off overnight and giving the overheat signal within 2 minutes of boot. Continues to do this in random amounts of time. Sometimes 10 secs, sometimes 2 mins.

Call Sony. Rep was kind of rude but the Sony coffin is on it's way.

Call Microsoft. Rep says once again that the person before them did not do the repair order properly. Says it will be here in 3-5 business days.

I'm glad that I'm more of a casual gamer that doesn't have time to play everyday. All I'm hoping is that I have one of these two pieces of junk working by the time Silent Hill V debuts.

Had my Wii since Thanksgiving, and it has been flawless!
And for the games that don't come out for Wii, I have had my PS2 for 5 years without any problems. I'm gonna wait a few years until Sony and Xbox get all the bugs worked out. Nintendo FTW!

I was going to say the same thing. Never had a problem with a nintendo product, had a couple PS2s die and my buddy's 360 died on him too.

I've destroyed 2 PS2's, my regular xbox runs like a champ. My original NES was one that even played the gold plated games, games like Micro Machines never worked on any of my buddy's.

^^^ Every console i have had, if i still have it is 100% functional to this day. I still play my original NES that was bought about 20 years ago. Although most of my gaming attention goes to myPSP and PS2(to be replaced by a PS3 Soon!)

PS3 isnt worth the price to be honest...they keep dropping the price on them but they still arent selling...if you wanna spend that kind of money get an xbox 360 they are amazing. and if you HD TV get the Elite its way better then PS3

I have an HDTV LCD in my bedroom. Had a 360 but it broke after 10 minutes. I think my next game system is a ps3 when they drop to 300 or something...

Both the 360 and the PS3 have 2-3 feet of open air at each vent.

My first 360, which was part of the launch batch, lasted a year and a half before heat made the 3 red rings of death appear.

So I'd say cooling is not a problem. The refurbished 360 I got under warranty has had disc read errors since I got it back in May. They finally got bad enough to make the 360 unplayable.

I've owned a Coleco Gemini, NES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Sega Saturn, PS1, PS2, Xbox and none of those ever let me down. LOL.

i got a cooling fan thingy on mine and it does fine...dont set it on like a Tv or carpet cause the TV will over heat it even with the fan and the carpet will put nothing but dust up in there...Ive actaully owned like every system out there, quit sad really once you think about it.haha. but they all work fine for me
