Well this is my first how-to I have ever done so will try to do my best.

2007 Pontiac G5 Base Model Used for application (My Car)

Material Needed for both key holes or trunk lock plugs:

Hillman Variable Push Fastners GM H#881200 (Sold at Lowes 2 per pack $0.80)
Hillman Variable Push Fastners Chrysler H#881198 (Sold at Lowes 2 per pack $0.80)
Box Cutter with Good Blade (be careful)
Color Matched Paint (Mine is on order)

First is the key hole plugs:

Material Need:
Hillman Variable Push Fastners GM H#881200 (Sold at Lowes 2 per pack $0.80)

Color Matched Paint (Mine is on order)

Step one:
You need to cut off the little stub at the end circled in red.
Step two:
You will have to shave little by little the sides leaving the raised pieces intact (Green Circle). Using another set I was testing with you will get the idea in the second picture.

Step Three:
Test fit.

Step four:
Paint. (Now I know my color doesn't match but I have ordered some from the dealer but wanted to get the point across in the post.)

Now I will suggest maybe some silicone for security and to hold in place a little bit better.

Second we have the trunk lock:

Material Needed:

Hillman Variable Push Fastners Chrysler H#881198 (Sold at Lowes 2 per pack $0.80)

Box Cutter with Good Blade

Color Matched Paint (Your Choice If You Want to Paint Them)

Step One:
Cutting. Cut the nub at the front just like the key hole plugs. Shave flat to where it will fit into the lock. The hardest part of this is the base circled in red has to be cut flat enough to go in the lock to.

Step two:
Test Fit.

Step Three:
Paint.
Now I have decided not to do this right now but it is your choice.

Thank You and do at you own risk!

Good how-to. Might do this at some point.

One thing I noticed is that the door lock plug didn't seat well in the pics. Like it was a little off center. Were you able to correct that so it is flush?

Sorry for jacking this, but what came off of it? Has anyone gotten their money back? Anyone received his product? And if he was a fraud...was anything done about it?

yeah you have to shave some of the locks on the plugs to get them skinnier but they seem to hold them in place better and more secure

haha.. i went to lowes last night.. lmao I will post pics of what it looks like on mine later, im cutting them right now

i couldn't get them to fit for the life of me
you are going to cut the side pretty skinny to fit in the lock if need be i will take a pic of one on the car right now just let me know

alright well i just went to lowe's and did the same thing. the GT doorhandles are different but it still worked. i am painting them right now and than i will go put them on. i have to wait for my stepbro to get off work to take some pictures.

very nice how-to. easy to follow and it looks great. i spent 1.60 for the parts and i had to buy new razors so 2.90 total and it looks good

the door handles do not change from base to gt...they are exactly the same.

ya and i tried to paint them w/ the GM paint. it's the paint applicator for chips and stuff like that it has a small brush and a pen. and it did not work lol. i just left them that plastoc color. i might get some clear spray paint and go over it.
